One of the most attractive species of Agave. It forms large rosettes of thick leaves, few in number, glaucous-blue in color which marginal thorns are black. It does not survive sub-zero temperatures.
To be handled with care, as the leaves are not very fibrous, so they break if accidentally hit.
This variegated form is particularly beautiful for the red-amber color it assumes at low temperatures.
