Details
The phytosanitary certificate is a document relating to the phytosanitary status of plants or plant products intended for export to third countries (outside the European Union). The document is issued by a National Organization for the Protection of Plants (NPPO) and must comply with the model provided for by the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC).
The phytosanitary certificate must be signed by a technically qualified public official and duly authorized by the ONPV of the exporting country.
The phytosanitary certificate certifies that the plants or plant products intended for export have been inspected according to appropriate procedures and are free from organisms harmful to plants and compliant with the phytosanitary legislation of the country of destination.
